Hotel Thattivilas opened in Theni in 1975. In the decades since, it has become one of the traditional hotels of Theni district — a place that people describe by memory rather than by address.
Very little about the food has changed across those fifty years, and that is the point. The recipes are the same ones the hotel opened with. Regulars who first came as children now bring their own families, and they order more or less what they always ordered.
Longevity in this business is not built on reinvention. It is built on being the same, reliably, for a very long time.
